Sheshatshiu Innu First Nation is pursuing new opportunities for tourism into the Mealy Mountains National Park. The development of a new wharf will bring opportunities for guiding, boat tours and enhance community and subsistence use of Upper Lake Melville. Engagement opportunities included stakeholder interviews of Innu Nation, Destination Labrador, and information gathering from similar facilities in the Upper Lake Melville Region. Discussion with community members happened casually during the annual Gathering at Gull Island and through discussions with SIFN staff.
